​Business Situation

Puget Sound Partnership (PSP) is a Washington State government agency created to serve as an advocate for the health of the Puget Sound, WA ecosystem. PSP envisioned a public beach access mobile app based on the state Department of Ecology’s coastal atlas data for busy state citizens and visitors on the go.

Solution

Puget Sound Partnership released a Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit mobile application vendors to engineer both a web-based application module and mobile applications for deployment to the Apple iTunes and Google Play app stores. Vitasys proposed a Joomla open-source framework web-based module and native Apple iOS and Google Android based mobile development to achieve maximum audience reach with limited project funding.

Results

The successful launch of the applications on-time, scope and budget significantly increased Puget Sound Partnershp’s public awareness and highlighted issues surrounding Puget Sound water quality. The applications were part of a larger marketing campaign that employed cross-channel communication strategies and wide demographic reach.
